The chemical name is methyl <span class="Italics">N</span>-{(2<span class="Italics">S</span>)-1-[(4-{3-[5-chloro-2-fluoro-3-(methanesulfonamido)phenyl]-1-(propan-2-yl)-1<span class="Italics">H</span>-pyrazol-4-yl}pyrimidin-2-yl)amino]propan-2-yl} carbamate. The molecular formula is C<span class="Sub">22</span>H<span class="Sub">27</span>ClFN<span class="Sub">7</span>O<span class="Sub">4</span>S and the molecular weight is 540 daltons. The chemical structure of encorafenib is shown below:</p><div class="Figure"><a name="id1981"></a><img alt="Chemical Structure" src="braftovi-01.jpg"/></div><p>Encorafenib is a white to almost white powder. In aqueous media, encorafenib is slightly soluble at pH 1, very slightly soluble at pH 2, and insoluble at pH 3 and higher.</p><p>BRAFTOVI (encorafenib) capsules for oral use contain 75 mg of encorafenib with the following inactive ingredients: copovidone, poloxamer 188, microcrystalline cellulose, succinic acid, crospovidone, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (vegetable origin). The capsule shell contains gelatin, titanium dioxide, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, ferrosoferric oxide, monogramming ink (pharmaceutical glaze, ferrosoferric oxide, propylene glycol).</p></section>

Braftovi (encorafenib) is an oral medication that inhibits kinases and is utilized in combination with other drugs to address certain forms of cancer. It is authorized for use in adults who:

Have melanoma skin cancer with a confirmed BRAF V600E or V600K mutation that cannot be addressed through surgery or has spread to other body parts (metastasized). This treatment is combined with binimetinib.
Previously received treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer with a confirmed BRAF V600E mutation, in conjunction with cetuximab.
Have metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with a confirmed BRAF V600E mutation, in combination with binimetinib.

Braftovi is specifically intended for patients with an abnormal BRAF gene, a distinct genetic marker. Your doctor will conduct tests to determine the presence of this gene. However, it is not meant for treating cancers with the wild-type BRAF gene, such as wild-type BRAF melanoma, wild-type BRAF CRC, or wild-type BRAF NSCLC.
