Dosing
Acne Vulgaris Apply approximately a pea-sized amount of ACZONE Gel, 7.5% in a thin layer to the entire face once daily; a thin layer may also be applied to other affected areas once daily.
Acne Vulgaris Apply a thin layer once daily in the evening to clean, dry skin; one pump actuation for the face, two for the upper trunk, with an optional additional actuation for the middle and lower back; avoid contact with eyes, lips, paranasal creases, and mucous membranes.

Adverse Reactions
Most common (>=0.9%) Application site dryness, application site pruritus
Serious Agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia, peripheral neuropathy, toxic epidermal necrolysis, erythema multiforme, bullous and exfoliative dermatitis, erythema nodosum, urticaria (reported with oral use of dapsone)
Postmarketing Methemoglobinemia, rash (including erythematous rash, application site rash), swelling of face (including lip swelling, eye swelling)
Most common (>=1%) Application site irritation, application site pruritus, sunburn
Pharmacology
Dapsone is a sulfone whose mechanism of action in treating acne vulgaris is not known; topical application results in minimal systemic absorption.
Trifarotene is a retinoic acid receptor (RAR) agonist with particular activity at the gamma subtype; stimulation of RAR modulates target genes associated with cell differentiation and inflammation.
