Ajovy is a prescription medication that can be self-injected once a month or once every three months under the skin to prevent migraine headaches. Ubrelvy is a medication that adults can use to treat acute migraine attacks. It works by blocking CGRP, a protein believed to contribute to migraine attacks by causing pain, blood vessel dilation, and inflammation. Ubrelvy is well-tolerated, with less than 5% of individuals reporting side effects such as nausea, somnolence, and dry mouth. Ubrelvy does not prevent migraines.
