Dosing
Rosacea Apply a cherry-sized amount of foam to the entire face once daily at least 1 hour before bedtime; do not bathe, shower, or swim for at least 1 hour after application.
Rosacea 40 mg once daily in the morning on an empty stomach, preferably at least one hour prior to or two hours after meals, administered orally.
Contraindications
  • Hypersensitivity to any tetracycline or any other ingredient in ZILXI
  • Hypersensitivity to doxycycline or any of the other tetracyclines
Adverse Reactions

Postmarketing pseudotumor cerebri (benign intracranial hypertension), headache, fixed drug eruption, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, insomnia, abnormal dreams, hallucination
Pharmacology
Minocycline is a semi-synthetic derivative of tetracycline; its mechanism of action for the treatment of inflammatory lesions of rosacea is unknown.
Doxycycline is a member of the tetracycline-class of drugs; the plasma concentrations achieved with ORACEA are sub-antimicrobial, and the mechanism of action in the treatment of inflammatory lesions of rosacea is unknown.
