Usage: Emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate are indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in combination with other antiretroviral agents for adults and children (≥17 kg). They are also used for HIV-1 pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in at-risk patients (≥35 kg) to reduce sexually acquired HIV-1 infection risk.
