Pharmacology
EVOTAZ is a fixed-dose combination of atazanavir, an HIV-1 protease inhibitor that prevents viral Gag and Gag-Pol polyprotein processing, and cobicistat, a CYP3A inhibitor that increases atazanavir systemic exposure.
Etravirine is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) that binds directly to HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and blocks RNA-dependent and DNA-dependent DNA polymerase activities by disrupting the enzyme's catalytic site.
