Pharmacology
Brimonidine is a relatively selective alpha-2 adrenergic agonist; topical application of MIRVASO topical gel may reduce facial erythema through direct vasoconstriction.
Oxymetazoline is an alpha 1A adrenoceptor agonist that acts as a vasoconstrictor when applied topically to the face.
